8 November 2012: Learning Dialogue

Ephemeral structures in urban development

Together with 20 students from the fields of architecture, urban design, urban and regional planning and landscape architecture (TU Berlin) we started our work with an intensive on-site analysis in Lichtenberg: from Ostkreuz, the southern Frankfurter Allee to Alt-Lichtenberg and the trade area around the Herzbergstraße. The focus here is on fundamental questions as to the types of property which are subject to temporary uses, legal frameworks, the importance of civil involvement and the importance of temporary economies for urban development.
